Advent gift:
Having grown children come back into the house for the holidays is a widening experience. Everything seems bigger, stretched, expansive, full of love, laughs, and ...extra shoes around the front door.
Give me the grace to have my heart remain stretched so that I may love more deeply and widely, beyond the easy love for those closest to me to those in the world I may keep at at distance. Amen

Thats always a difficult one. To love those at a distance as much as we love those nearest and dearest to us. Yet, isn't that what God demands of us? I need to work on this.
My heart swells with love for my family, yet how do I extend that same love for that "family at large" those down the road, across town, and outward and around the world?
