Finding

Where you missed it
it stood with eyes downcast,
laughed out loud,
shone brightly,
fell to the earth.

Your heart closed
or opened,
but only to a skip of beat
making meaning.

Stand in compassion
hold it whole and ripe
expectant.
Then listen to the eyes,
watch the laugh,
reflect the brightness,
and fall with it to the earth.
